You didn't hear from me yesterday... 

The results of the new survey surprised me, and I took some time to come up with a solution (you'll love it, I promise). It helps that we've just reached our third Stretch Goal :)

Back to my story...

I found out how to keep the survey working (I switched to a premium plan in order to be able to see more than the first 100 answers), but then again the outcome didn't change too much after 30 more votes: funnily enough, we officially have a new tie, this time between Night Black and Twilight Gray :)

Sky Blue was consistently put at the third place, with Morning Sky coming last.

But we know from the last time, when gray was not an option, that black and blue were very close, and the lighter blue had its share of preferences as well.

In addition I have received from Q-workshop their official renderings of the Twilight Gray with Golden paint, and while they have two shades of gray to choose from, the darker is too close to Night Black to be an option, and the lighter has poor contrast.

So it was back to the drawing board, but since we have two more weeks and there might be enough request to justify the manufacturing of more colors for the Eclipse d10, I am now able to announce the following decision:

You will be able to choose a color combination!

Available background colors: Night Black / Sky Blue
Available paints: White / Silver / Gold

Plain white paint is an option too, but the metallic ones will only be applied to the bonus Eclipse d10 offered to the backers of this campaign, so choose wisely :)

What about Morning Sky?

This color will be added if we finally reach €15000 (500% of the initial goal).

And if we do, the Eclipse d10 on the sample tiers will upgrade to metallic paint, too!

Breaking the tie

As anticipated in the comments section, we haven't a clear winner after many more votes. There is a very slight preference for Night Black, but the original survey didn't include the new color option, which we'll call Twilight Gray.

Backer Kyrie suggested that "the gold would be gorgeous regardless of which background color gets picked", so on the image above you can see renderings for both the golden paint and silver paint option applied to all colors, except the dark gray for which silver would not be very effective. Since these are not official Q-Workshop renderings, the final outcome could be slightly different.

There are two main views regarding the possibility of matching the existing sets:

Backer Joseph Wells commented: "I still really want the night black. It will go with the rest of my dice so much better".

Backer Matthew Roy wrote: "the most popular rewards were the mixed sets, and this KS introduces two new d6s which are not only different from the pre-existing dice, but different from each other as well. This whole campaign is about variety! The eclipse die SHOULD be different; it was a special, unique experience and deserves to be celebrated as such".

My opinion is that the Eclipse d10 doesn't belong to the previous set, which was designed around the concept of exploration, so a different color or paint might be better, because that wouldn't favor any backers (those owning sets in the winning color) while leaving just as many with a clearly mismatched set (one of which could be you!).

Anyway, the final choice will be yours!

In order to consider the new options, the previous survey has been closed, so please cast your vote again on the new one, which works in a different way: you'll be able to enter an index number or drag & drop the options to express your order of preference.  The platform used only allows 100 answers, so don't wait too much to speak your mind!

It's a tie on the Eclipse!

Over 120 backers expressed their color preference for the new Eclipse d10, while this important Stretch Goal was being unlocked (after only 30 hours from the launch)!

Night Black and Sky Blue came to a tie, with Morning Sky following close.

This kind of result makes it hard to decide without making too many unsatisfied, so now we have basically two options: to wait for more votes, or to find better alternatives.

This is the one suggested by Martha Ward Spradlin, a member of the Dice Maniacs Club on Facebook (another member of the same group, Amanda Jule, asked if any designer was working on dice about the Eclipse... so I started making this one :)

The good thing about this combination is that it would set the Eclipse d10 apart from all other dice (which belong to a different concept) and a dark gray extra would look good with both blue and black sets. If this option will be chosen, since silver paint wouldn't be visible, the extra stretch goal would bring you GOLDEN painted Eclipse d10!

We definitely got off to a flying start:

• € 3000 Goal reached in precisely 3 hours
• € 6000 Stretch Goal reached in precisely 10 hours
• € 9000 Stretch Goal... well, we're close but still getting there :)

All rewards now include more Sky's Edge d6, and the Eclipse d10 might also be unlocked very soon! Please click here to vote for its color.

Some rewards proved to be more popular than others, so the available quantity of the least popular ones will be now decreased in order to use their dice in a more efficient way, and bring us faster to the next Stretch Goal:

The original quantities above (orange) were increased (green) or decreased (red).
I can imagine you will be happy to find the following changes:

• from 45 to 65 for the Anniversary Celebrations bundle #2
• from 7 to 11 for The very last (glowing) Mixed sets - v.1
• from 7 to 11 for The very last (glowing) Mixed sets - v.2

More glowing sets? How is this possible? You might have noticed that the number of available glow-in-the-dark Sky Blue sets went from the original 15 to 11. After being asked repeatedly for more mixed color glowing sets, I have found out that I could be using 4 more extra incomplete glowing Night Black sets (which are missing their d6) and join them to those 4 Sky Blue sets, and obtain a total of 8 mixed color sets, bringing their number from 7 to 11 each :) and that's all I can do about it!

The quantities will be modified 3 hours from now, in order to give everyone the same chance of reading this update and act accordingly.
